White Trash Homophobe In Big Trouble

The day of reckoning has been delayed for a man accused in the brutal assault of a gay man in Springville.

26-year-old "White Trash" Joshua Holts, of suburban Buffalo, NY, has withdrawn his guilty plea to the August 2008 attack on 48-year-old Scott Wright because Erie County Judge Thomas Franczyk told him he would IGNORE the plea agreement and sentence him to a longer term in prison.

The judge  allowed him to withdraw his guilty plea to felony assault. He will now face a trial by jury.

Kitty Lambert of Outspoken for Equality said, "Today it was important to be here to make sure that our voices are heard and that Scott (the victim) is supported."

A surveillance video captured the beating which took place outside a gay bar.
"White Trash "Holts  was standing across the street from the bar, walked over to it, and began to beat the victim savagely.

Anti-gay slurs were reportedly made by Holts, and although it was oddly not considered a hate crime, Judge Thomas Franczyk now says he would be compelled to give Holts a more severe sentence after reviewing post-plea information.

Judy Wright, the victim's mother, said, " This crime totally impacted his life and forever had left him a different person than what he was."

Holts will face a jury trial in May.
